We all know that smoking poses huge health risks, so I won’t go into reiterating all of those here. Instead I will focus on ways to help you or someone you know to quit. The link below from the American Cancer Society has lots of great information including a stop-smoking hotline!
In addition there are other ways to help support the difficult process of quitting. Here are some ideas of ways to stay focused on your goal:
2. Exercise – feel cravings coming on? Go for a walk or a run to get your mind off it and help get some good clean oxygen into those lungs- they need it!
3. Support Groups – Meet others in your area that are also going through the quitting process. It can help a lot to hear each other’s stories and get/give encouragement!
4. Hypnotherapy – This can be a great modality of treatment which can really get into your subconscious mind to help you overcome your cravings at a deep level.
5. Acupressure and Acupuncture – There are lots of powerful points on the ears and body to help in the detoxification process as well as curb cravings for cigarettes. I use acupuncture treatments and acupressure ear seeds (which stick to points on the ears for several days- applying constant gentle pressure) to give you a steady support during the process.
