1. Green Tea – This popular tea has tons of great benefits including its ability to regulate blood sugar and increase metabolism. In addition it has strong antioxidant, antibiotic, antiviral properties, and more! It also has a mild flavor that most people like.
2. Ginger Tea – This tasty tea is known for its ability to soothe the stomach from nausea or indigestion. It’s also warming- so even better on a chilly day. You can even make your own by slicing raw ginger and letting it steep in a cup of hot water.
4. Peppermint Tea – This is a great tea for stomach issues like bloating and gas. It can also suppress appetite, and is helpful with weight loss. Try drinking a cup after dinner to give yourself a healthy “sweet” drink instead of a rich dessert. An added bonus: peppermint can also open up your sinuses if you are feeling stuffy!
5. Rooibos Tea – Another antioxidant-packed tea, rooibos is said to help prevent Alzheimer’s and some cancers. It also contains lots of health-promoting minerals including: calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, and zinc. In addition this tea can improve circulation in the body.
There are plenty of other great teas out there too. Fruit teas are generally caffeine free and are tasty and sweet without adding any sugar. Black tea can be a great alternative to coffee if you are trying to cut back on caffeine as it has more than most teas, but still less than coffee. Try starting with one of the teas above or pick something else out that sounds good to you. You really can’t go wrong with a good cup of tea!
